Introduction

Postal delivery people typically handle 250 kg of mail per day which can result in carpal tunnel syndrome as well as other health issues. To address these, a two part system was developed to assist in the physically demanding work for a safe and comfortable delivery of mail.


Final Design

Smart glove

This glove provides support from the back to avoid over-extension of the wrist and reduces demand on the thumb

The ratchet system is placed on the underside of the hand. It works through 3 wires connected from the ratchet to the fingers

Body Aid

The body-aid, is a new mail bag design with customizable positioning to allow for an ergonomically appropriate distribution of weight.

The bag is mounted and clickable on a mechanism that allows you to slide the bag away from the working position to the back to carry the weight in a more comfortable way
